Meet the Team

Meet the friendly team behind Swadlincote Vets

Veterinary Surgeons

Ingrid Stevenson - Clinical Director
I am from southern Ireland and qualified in 2007. Since qualifying I have worked in Ireland and spent three years working in Australia, which was an amazing experience. I have been working in companion animal practice in England since 2012, and gained my Certificate in Small Animal Internal medicine in October 2013. The team at Swadlincote are fantastic to work with and everyone is very dedicated to providing excellent care for our patients. I love animals and my little dog Hobbes lives in Ireland with my Mum. In my spare time, I can be found out running, cycling and or jumping into cold open water for a swim!

Kevin Doyle - Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified in 1994 from Glasgow University, came to work here in Swadlincote that summer, and stayed here ever since! Both staff and clients are very friendly and easy to work with, and that's why I decided to stay. I enjoy working here, and like both the medical and surgical aspects of my job. In my spare time, I like to walk, cycle and occasionally do the odd track day at Oulton Park, and of course Donington Park.

Petar Ivanov - Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated in 2015 from Trakia University and I joined the practice team here two years ago. I enjoy all aspects of my job from meeting puppies/kittens at first vaccinations to managing unwell patients and have a passion for surgery. I enjoy exercising regularly, spending time at the sea side and going out with friends.

Sarah Bull - Veterinary Nurse
I qualified as a veterinary nurse in the Easter of 2019. I love every aspect of my career, and I love working with such a happy and enthusiastic team. I am especially interested in anaesthesia and animal welfare. In my spare time, I enjoy walking my dog Mabel and keeping fit at the gym so I can eat chocolate!

Hannah - Veterinary Nurse
I have been working with animals for over 21 years now and couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. I've had a varied career starting with farm animals and equine vets, small/domestic animals, I have lectured in animal care and veterinary nursing at Solihull College and more recently worked with zoo animals. I have been a locum nurse for this practice for almost two years and have decided to stay on a long term basis now I have decided to leave Birmingham and stay in South Derbyshire. I'm very lucky to be able to work with such a fantastic and supportive team. I have a passion for anything unusual especially exotics and love a challenge. As well as working here, I spend one day a week within a zoo as their vet nurse. I have two dogs, three cats, a frog, a lizard and a husband.

Corrie - Veterinary Nurse
I’ve been a registered veterinary nurse for 6 years. When I qualified, I worked at Swadlincote Veterinary Centre for 3 years. I then worked at Pride Veterinary Hospital for 2 and a half years before coming back to Swadlincote Veterinary Centre. I love nutrition and look into different diets best for your animals! I have three cats and a little girl who all run around crazy together!

Jess Lawton - Nurse Assistant
I have been working here for over 2 years now and love my job. I get to help the nurses care for your pets whilst there in and assist the team where needed. I have a big bouncy dog called Pluto and have just taken on a kitten. I enjoy writing, reading and horse riding.

Administrative Team

Christine Jameison Practice Manager
I have been a qualified nurse for 17 years and I loved all aspects of my job. I have recently been promoted to practice manager, an exciting role for myself especially to be able to input all my nurse training and veterinary knowledge into the workings of the practice. I no longer have any pets after losing my beautiful labrador 'Echo' but I do have two children, both boys, so coming to work keeps me sane (parents of boys will understand)! My main hobby is baking and cake decorating.

Kay - Administration Manager
I am the Administration Manager and have been working at Swadlincote Veterinary Centre for many years now. In my younger days, I was part of the Nursing Team and now my role is mainly behind the scenes trying to make sure everything runs smoothly. I also work front of house at reception, where I love to catch up with all of our clients and their beloved pets.

Donna - Receptionist
I have been part of the reception team since June 2014. I am an animal lover and have both cats and dogs at home. I thoroughly enjoy my work and the Swadlincote team are a great bunch of people to work with.

Katie - Receptionist
I have been working at Swadlincote Vets since 2012. Before working here I completed a course in Animal Managment at college. My greatest accomplishment is getting and training my Great Dane, Selda, whom I adore.

Sarah - Receptionist
I worked as a qualified veterinary nurse for many years in Worcester before I became a full time Mum to my three 'spirited' children! I joined the team in February 2015, working as a part time receptionist in the branch surgery at Melbourne, which is great. I have really enjoyed getting back working with animals again, never a dull day! I have a little dog, Millie, who has endless amounts of energy and loves long walks.

Paula Warren - Receptionist
I have been employed at Swadlincote Vets as a receptionist on a part time basis for many years. I have had many animals over the years including dogs, cats and horses, so i understand how worrying it can be when one of them becomes ill. I love my job and will always do my best to help both the client and their pet.

Lindsey - Receptionist
I joined the team in the middle of 2019, and I can certainly say that there is never a day the same here and I love it. I am lucky enough to not only have a job were I see animals every day but I also work alongside some fantastically hard working people and meet the most interesting of clients.

Megan - Receptionist
I am a recent addition to the Swadlincote reception team, having joined in the Summer of 2019. I thoroughly enjoy working with the animals and clients that I meet in the practice on a daily basis and I am to be as helpful as possible.
